Better Than Kenneling
There is no question that you love your pet(s) and want to provide the best care for them. There are plenty of good kennels out there but kenneling your pets can result in additional and unnecessary stress – for both you and them. While it is normal for your pet to exhibit some anxiety when you leave them, kenneling can dramatically increase that stress. Not only are they being separated from their people, they are also being left in a strange place with a number of unfamiliar people and other dogs. Engaging a sitter to care for your pets at home serves multiple purposes:
Your beloved pets remain safely in their home with all of their own ‘stuff’ (bed, toys, food dishes, even their favorite food)
Your ‘kids’ keep to their meal and exercise routine
Your pets continue to receive all the love and attention they deserve
Your home continues to be lived in by someone who can handle an emergency such as a burst pipe or storm damage
An occupied home dramatically reduces the chance of a break-in
Experience and Responsibility
I have been pet sitting nearly continuously since 2015 with many of those ‘sits’ repeats. I have a long list of outstanding references and feel honored by the number of households that now consider me a part of their family and ‘Godmother’ to their pets. I have cared for dogs of every size and type, cats both affectionate and stand-offish, a regal horse and delightful pony, and a sweet white dove. Teach me how best to care for your pets and I guarantee I will do well by them. My pet sitting has brought me down the entire US East Coast as well as to England, Scotland, France, and Italy.
Get to Know Me
I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and recently retired from nonprofit fundraising and communications, occasionally working remotely as a freelancer. I am professional and ridiculously responsible. Those who know me will attest that I always strive to live my life with integrity and that I am dependable, honest, and trustworthy. I am also easy-going, love to laugh, and it’s been said that I have never met a stranger. Further, I am neat and tidy and guarantee that, when you return, your home will be at least as neat and clean as when you left. I have been to 19 countries and 45 of the 50 United States. Travel and experiencing other regions and cultures is one of my greatest passions and I look forward to getting to know your community. Please note: with a bit of a cranky shoulder, walking larger dogs on a lead has become more problematic.
